Uganda’s sensation comedian duo Madrat and Chiko have threatened to shift from Uganda and find a new home in Kenya due to the prolonged strict regulations attached to the Arts Industry of Uganda. This comes a few days after Uganda Police stormed and ended Valentine’s dinner at Serena Hotel that was organized by Comedy Store founder Alex Muhangi.
The comedy duo claims there was no reason to cancel the valentine’s day dinner from happening since it was organised following the Standard Operating Procedures that are meant to be followed to avoid the spread of the corona Virus and also it only hosted less than the 200 people supposed to attend.
The frustrated comedians requested the government to allow the arts industry to operate including musicians, bars, and shows since it also failed to release the funds that were meant to help them during this lockdown period.
