The start times Uganda Premier League is coming quick and thick. Ugandan teams that have not played competitive football since march 2020 are starting to look at their squads as they prepare for the forthcoming season that is scheduled to start on the 20th of November 2020.
One of the teams doing all they can to prepare for the new seasons Wakiso Giants who have been carrying out outdoor training as they look into bring their players up to speed.
With the new season coming close, Wakiso giants coach Douglas Bamweyana has confirmed that his star duo of Lawrence Bukenya and Viane Ssekajugo is fit to play in the opening matches of the 2020/21 season.
The duo missed Wakiso Giants’ last matches of the previous campaign before it was prematurely ended due to the coronavirus.
Ssekajugo who was their main miss got injured during the Giants’ win over Maroon FC as Maroons goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo carelessly hurt the Uganda Cranes forward.
The injury to Ssekajugo got meant that he would be dropped from the Uganda Cranes Chan team but with his return to full fitness, he will be hoping to replicate the same form that got him into MCkinstry’s national team fold.
Wakiso Giants Gaffer has shown delight to the return of his star men who helped the club finish 10th in the premier league last season before it was halted by the coronavirus, “It’s good to have them back in time for preparations for the new season,” Coach Douglas Bamweyana said.
