Last season Uganda Star times premier league champions have discovered their fate as far as the Caf Champions League preliminary round is concerned. The venoms have been drawn against Sudanese outfit Al Hilal Omdurman FC in the preliminary round.
Vipers discovered its fate in Caf Champions League preliminary, and round 32 draws that was convened by caf in Cairo Egypt on Monday afternoon.
The venoms will start their Caf Champions League campaign with a trip to Sudan in the first leg on a date between November 27 and 29, before they host Al Hilal at st. Mary’s Stadium in the second leg on a further date said t be between December 4 and 5, 2020 as CAF shall have confirmed amidst the pandemic challenges.
The winner between Al Hilal and Vipers will face the winner between Mauritania’s Nouadhibour FC or Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko in the round of 32 for a place in the group stages.
Vipers’ bosses will be looking to see their team make it to the group stages for the first time in history after three times of trying. In 2016, they lost 2-1 on aggregate to Nigeria’s Enyimba at the preliminary round. The Venoms reached the first round qualifiers in 2019 reaching the play-off round qualifiers before they fell to Algeria’s CS Constantine 3-0 on aggregate.
Coach Kajoba will be hoping that he can write history by being the first coach to guide the Uganda League champions in the continental competition for the very first time.
