URA FC has moved quickly to strengthen their defense with the acquisition of left-back Arafat Galiwango from Police FC.
Last season’s 5th place holder confirmed the signing of the strapping left-back on their official website and will be hoping he can help them win trophies again under the guidance of Sam Simbwa.
Galiwango joins URA FC from Police FC on a free transfer after he and his representatives could not reach an agreement with the Police bosses over a new contract.
The big left-back joins Sam Simbwa’s team on a three-year contract and is aiming to improve his soccer this season with the guidance of the coach. “I have come here to try to improve and get better because I know as a player you always learn something new every day be it in training, during, or after a match,” Arafat was quoted saying on URA’s official website.
The former Policeman is also hoping he can gunner URA back to winning trophies that have shied away from them since they last won the Uganda cup in the season of 2013-14 ” I have also come here to help the team to win and play some good football. I am looking forward to achieving great things here – and winning trophies again with URA because it has been a while, which is what everyone’s aim is.”
