Sam Simbwa’s URA has strengthened their squad ahead of the new season that is set to begin in October with the capture of KCCA FC’s Jackson Nunda.
The departure of Nunda looked certain after KCCA FC was rumored to be in talks to sign young two-footed midfielder Andrew Kigozi from Police FC, and actually going through with it.
The tax collectors have signed the left-footed magician from KCCA FC and will be hoping he can provide the required competition for mainstay star players Sayid Kyeyune and Shafik Kagimu who enjoyed fantastic spell last season under Simbwa.
The 28-year-old joins URA on a three-year contract after spending four and a half years at the Lugogo based club making 11 appearances in the CAF champions league.
Nunda will be hoping that the competitiveness for players at the club can help push the Tax collectors back to glory days
“I chose URA because it’s an ambitious team and I love the competitiveness in the club,” Nunda told URA’s official website.
The Ugandan international is also aware of the competition for places at big and has vowed to fight for starting places in the middle of the park with Sayid Kyeyune and Shafik Kagimu. “Of course, I don’t expect it to be a walk in the park as I have to compete for a place in the team,” the 28-year-old narrated after his unveiling. “I am here to win trophies and give 100% for my new home, URA FC,” the midfielder added.
URA fans will be hoping that Nunda can stick by his words and guide his new side their first trophy since 2011
