The Uganda National Examinations Board has announced the dates on which candidates will sit for their leavers’ examinations.
Primary Seven candidates sit their exams at the end of March, on the 30th and 31st March. Senior Four candidates will have a lengthy examination schedule starting 25th February and coming to an end on 6th April. UACE exams for the senior six candidates will run from 12th April to 3rd May.
UNEB Executive Secretary, Daniel Odongo, argues that with this scheduling, the organization and the schools will address the social distancing concerns as the country is still in the middle of the fight against the coronavirus.
The academic year was prematurely cut short on March 18, 2020, as a precautionary measure to control the deadly coronavirus disease (COVID-19). As a result, over 15 million learners enrolled in schools at different education levels have been at home since the lockdown.
Candidates in P7, S4 and S6 had since resumed school towards the end of 2020.
