The Ministry Of Health has this afternoon confirmed that a fifth Ugandan has succumbed to COVID19.
In the latest statistics related to Coronavirus, the death recorded is of a 46-year-old female of Indian Origin. She has been a resident of Kibuli in Kampala.
The deceased presented symptoms consistent with COVI19 while at Kibuli Hospital according to the ministry, and was referred to Mulago but she passed on, on her way to the National referral hospital.
Further Investigations revealed that she was diabetic and off medication and had a history of asthma for 10 years. Both diabetes and asthma are risk factors of COVID19
This new deveopment comes after Minister Nabakooba sounded a stern warning to Ugandans to adhere to Gov’t SOPs or risk another lockdown.
The latest test stats indicate Uganda has 13 new cases of positive corona-virus tests from samples taken on 2nd August, bringing Uganda’s cumulative cases to 1,195 and recoveries are 1,070.
