The latest statistics from the Ministry Of Health show that Uganda has recorded 94 new positive cases of the coronavirus and 3 deaths.
94 cases are the most recorded in a day, and this has taken the tally of cumulative positive cases to 1,750. Also, Uganda has recorded 3 new COVID-19 deaths bringing the total COVID-19 deaths to 19.
The 3 deaths, according to a statement from the ministry, are residents of Kampala – two males aged 31 and 41, and a female aged 57. They passed on while in admission to different private health facilities.
Of the 94 new cases, 53 are alerts, 33 are contacts of previously recorded cases, 7 truck drivers and one returnee from Kenya.
Kampala remains the red zone of infections as statistics show that 51 alerts in Kampala tested positive, 21 contacts from Kampala tested positive for the coronavirus. This comes a day after Minister Jane Ruth Acheng urged Ugandan to brazenly observe the SOPs put in place as the government couldn’t shoulder the pandemic as it did at the start.
