Express FC has continued to strengthen its squad with the acquisition of experienced defender Murushid Juuko.
Murushid started his footballing career at Bunamwaya in 2009 and represented the side for three years making 32 appearances before he was scooped by the then big spenders Victoria University in 2012,
While at Victoria University Fc, Juuko impressed in his 36 appearances and was then snapped up by Tanzania Giants Simba. While at Simba, Juuko made 149 appearances scoring 7 goals between 2014 and 2019.
In 2019, Murushid joined African giants Wayda Casablanca but his move there didn’t reap the dividends he had hoped and thus deciding to return home with six-time League champions Express Fc.
After his return to Ugandan Football, Murushid Juuko stressed that the hope of winning silverware at Express this season was one of the reasons he signed with the Wankuluku based side “am happy to be here, Express is a big club and it’s current progress speaks for its self and am sure we going to win silverware this season” He stated.
He also thanked the Mukwano Gwa’banji CEO Isaac Mwesigwa and Coach Wasswa BBossa for making his move happen. “Firstly, I want to appreciate the CEO (Isaac Mwesigwa) and the head coach (Wasswa Bbosa) for making this happen” Juuko said.
The 26-year-old who has been capped 41 times with the Uganda National Team becomes Express’ 16th signing ahead of the new season.
