Tottenham Spurs have confirmed the signing of Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan from Benfica.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan from Benfica,” a club statement read.
Jose Mourinho has continued to strengthen his side as he hopes to guide Spurs to silverware for the first time in decades.
The Portuguese who had seen his several targets turn down his offer of joining Spurs due to Harry Kane’s daunting form.
The 25-year-old was the joint top goalscorer in Portugal’s Premiera Liga last season with 18 goals in 32 matches and also finished the campaign with 24 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions for Benfica.
Carlos will wear the number 45 shirt on his back and will be hoping to have a successful year in England as he hopes to break into the Brazilian national team.
