The Higher Education Students Financing Board (HEFSB) has today announced a 30 days extension of the Student Loan Scheme Deadline.
The deadline to receive applications to the Student Loan Scheme has been extended from 31st August 2020 to 30th September 2020 for undergraduate degree applicants and 15th October 2020 for Undergraduate Diploma Applicants.
The HESFB confirm they have reached this decision because the Joint Admissions Board (JAB) is yet to conclude their national selection exercise for different BuinessTechnical Vocational Education And Training (BTVET).
“The HEFSB, therefore, informs all intending students’ loan applicants to apply online on www.hesfb.go.ug or pick and drop applications at any Centenary Bank branch countrywide. The application attracts a non-refundable loan processing fee of UGX 53,000.”
Also, the fact that some public higher education institutions of learning are yet to release their undergrad admission was a factor in the extension.
The board has clarified that those applicants appearing on different admission lists but are yet to get admission letters can attach the page of admission highlighting their name and course as this can be a substitute for the admission letter.
