Presidential hopeful Joseph Kabuleta has come out to pledge support to sports in the country once he assumes the top the top position in the country . He said this will enable youths to start earning from their talent other than waiting for government jobs. Kabuleta made the remarks on Thursday while in Kasese district where he interacted with youth that were playing volleyball at Kisanga playground.
Talking journalists in Kasese he said ,”if there is someone who has a special talent regardless of their financial stand ,the sports system can capture them and put them on an national and international stage then we shall start seeing sport as a talent when people can actually earn from it ‘. He also hinted on how he targets sport not only as a leisure but an industry where people can actually earn a living from footballers ,umpires .
It should be noted that worked for the The Crusader newspaper as a sports writer where his elevation was evident to sports editor and later on became a reporter with The New Vision .He also headed the Uganda Sports Press Association between 2003 and 2007.
A day before on 16th of December 2020, Kabuleta met a team of religious leaders at Okapi hotel in Rukungiri town which included leaders of all faiths including reverends, catholic priests, Muslim clerics and others.
He told them that the element of fearing God is crucial in leadership because it determines whether leaders make just decisions and care for the people.
