The former Commissioner for Customs and Chairperson of the World Custom’s Organization, Dicksons Kateshumbwa on Monday, 14th August 2020 officially launched his campaign Manifesto for the 2021 General Elections in a ceremony held at his home in Kabwohe as he seeks to become Sheema Municipality’s Member of Parliament.
While launching his campaign manifesto, the former Taxman now politician argued that he acknowledges that there is a need to improve access to HIV prevention, treatment, and support services in Sheema Municipality. He attributed this to the lack of cooperation between the business community and the local people in the district which he believes he could become the much-needed bridge so as to ensure that such services are availed.
“We shall work towards having a smart municipality with good infrastructure such as good roads, organised markets, street lighting, green space, among others,”
Dicksons Kateshumbwa.
“Katesh” as commonly known, further highlighted the need for infrastructural development in his manifesto citing lack of funding as the major reason why Sheema district does not well-constructed roads, organized markets, and street lighting. He noted that for all this to happen, the people of Sheema District must, first of all, do away with the selfish and irresponsible leadership that they have as it undermines the need for development.
His battle to legislate on behalf of the people of Sheema Municipality won’t come easy as the former URA official will be running against the incumbent Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye.
Well I think change is need full coz we have been tired of erioda tumwesigye the fact that we want Change
