Long days and nights of work and mastery with music producers have come to fruition for budding musician Shawn Maine has released his debut EP (Extended Play) titled “After The Pain.”
The musical showpiece is a step-by-step merry-go-round of emotions in a story well told by Shawn. Nursing a heartbreak, Shawn introduced the EP with “See Me Now,” calling on his lost love to come back so they can rekindle what they had.
“See me now, baby. I am dying for your love,” Shawn cries out.
Shawn puts his urban song on the second song, Run, where he vows to go after the girl that stole his heart from him. The girl loves the chase, while Shawn, who is lovesick and out of his mind because of her, is not about to give up on her.
The story continues with “Do It” as Shawn accepts to move on, trying to find something or someone else to give meaning to his life. With “I Hope,” Shawn Maine looks to establish trust with “her” and asks her to look beyond the words coming from external sources and focus on them. The deal is sealed in “After 5” and it is green grass on the other side.
Shawn hosted an exclusive listening party at Kenji’s last evening attended by media personalities, deejays, music pundits & enthusiasts, Shawn performed parts the EP live, and did some acoustic versions of some with guitar backing by Baraka Joshua.
Shawn Maine has featured before on Lamu’s EP titled “No Pressure.” Shawn Maine’s music journey started quite early in his life but he went professional in 2019 and has worked on a number of shining projects which have seen open for global icons like Jidenna of the Classic Man fame and Naija sensation Wizkid.
