The Coronavirus pandemic continues to plunge various institutions and commerce into losses and Shanghai Restaurant is the latest victim.
The Kampala branch of Shanghai Restaurant, also known as Hotel Shangri-La, announced they closed business effective 1st September 2020.
The closure is attributed to the coronavirus spread in the country.
“We have provided high-quality Chinese food for close to 30 years and been an enthusiastic part of the community but due to the harsh effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the business, the restaurant is closing down,” read the statement from management.
Although the Kampala branch is closed, the restaurant say the Muyenga branch is fully operational.
Shanghai Restaurant joins PEP Stores (July) and GEMS Cambridge (December) to announce complete closure of facilities.
