Former Onduparaka man Muhammad Shaban is raring to reignite his career that has significantly stalled after his move from Onduparaka to KCCA to Raja Casablanca and to Vipers in In a space of three years.
The Uganda international set the Uganda premier league alight with his goal-scoring prowess earlier in his career when he was at Onduparaka and his goal scoring record at the Arua based side got many thinking Uganda had gotten a replacement for the late Magid Musisi. His performances not only got him comparisons with the great but also an award as he was voted FUFA’s footballer of the Year in 2016.

Shaban’s good scoring form at Onduparaka saw him hit the headlines in 2016 as to have joined Vipers but the failure of reaching an agreement between the Venoms and Onduparaka meant the mercurial striker would stay in Arua for an extra season.
Shaban’s talent was enough to convince anybody that he didn’t have a lot of time left playing for the Arua based side before big teams from the capital came calling and it was in 2017 that KCCA the then League Champions came calling and signed him on a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old continued his fine form at KCCA that had seen him tipped for big thing and it didn’t take long for him to attract interest From Africa’s Elite clubs.

In 2017, Shaban was called to the national team that was played in the 2017 AFCON and in 2018 he was linked with a move to South Africa’s Orlando Pirates before Joining Moroccan side Raja Casablanca where he went on to make only 5 appearances before being hit by a knee injury that would force him back home, and then join Vipers Sc.

Now that Shaban has been through a lot, he will be hoping for the better in the coming season and as for this, he has vowed to the fans that he is bringing a new him next season when he was asked about what fans should expect in Q&A on Vipers official site.
“The fans should forget the old me. There is a different Shaban coming. A better one who will play with more purpose and drive. I have kept them waiting because of injury but I am going entertain them. I promise to do my best for both club and country if I am called again, InshAllah.”
