Ronaldo Kigongo has put pen to paper to sign a new three year contract with URA FC. Sam Simbwa’s side has found Kigongo’s talent and skill of much needed help to the tax collectors thus rewarding him a new deal. Kigongo who joined URA FC from Maroons FC back in 2014 has now been tied down for a further 3 years.
Ronald Joined as a striker but his failure to put the ball past the opposition goal line convinced the technical staff at URA FC to consider changing his position on the pitch. Kigongo’s game reading after changing to right back has benefited both parties as form has returned to his game and URA now has a reliable full back who can defend and attack at the same time. Dividends in the switch of Kigongo’s roll have been evident as Sam Simbwa’s side has become a hard team to score against whilst scoring for fun the other side of the pitch where Ronaldo was removed. The tax collectors boost of one of the meanest defenses in the StarTimesUPL with them conceding the 3rd lowest number of goals before the league was suspended following the corona virus pandemic. URA FC had only conceded 22 goals before the break.
Kigongo will be hoping to deliver more success to the club that has showed faith in his services by awarding him a 3 year deal. After spending six years on the books of URA, Kigongo will be hoping to become the Tax Collectors’ longest serving player when his new signed deal expires in 2023. He will also aim at helping URA FC finish higher the table after coming 5th last season.
