The Glacticos are now just one win away from being crowned La Liga champions after they saw off 10th placed La Liga side Granada with a narrow 2-1 win.
Real Madrid took the lead early on in the first half through French defender Ferland Mendy who scored from a tight angle with a ferocious strike in the 10th minute before karim Benzema added a second in the 16th minute to give las Blancos a 2-0 lead into the half time break.

Real Madrid looked in cruise control of the game in the first half but their failure to create and take up chances nearly backfired as Granada came back strong in the second half to score a consolation goal in the 50th minute as Daniel Darwin Machis fired through Thibout Courtois’ legs.
Granada came close to a second goal in the second half but were denied by goal line clearance from Sergio Ramos.
After defending too much in the second half, Real Madrid’s keeper lifted the lid about his fellow team mates not killing off the game as early as possible as they nearly lost their trail in quest of the LA Liga trophy. He urged his team mates to focus more on killing the game, here is what he said,

“We let our guard down a little bit instead of going to kill the game and looking for the third, we relaxed.
“These things cannot happen because anyone can beat you if you don’t keep the intensity.”
Zidane’s side now move four points clear of second placed side Barcelona with two games remaining. Real Madrid only needs two points from the remaining games where they face fifth placed side Villareal and relegation threatened side Leganes. Zidane will be happy that his side held onto the lead.
Gareth Bale was again left on the bench as concerns about his future still make headlines in Spain.
