Police in Kisoro District is still investigating the circumstances under which Duhibanze Godfrey, a Primary Three pupil was murdered.
Duhibanze, a pupil at Nyakabaya Primary School, was said to have been kidnapped on Saturday evening at around 7:30 pm.
After a fruitless search that went on till the next day, his body was found in a sweet potato garden in the nearby village of Nshora.
Elly Maate, Regional Police Spokesperson indicates that the deceased was found with gruesome bodily injuries, a valid indication that he was brutalized in his last moments.
The deceased’s father, a one Muperu Vanasi aged 43 and a resident of Nyarusiza sub-county, Kisoro District recorded a police statement that led the officers to three suspects, Robert Nkurunziza aged 50, Pamela Nyirarukundo aged 22 and Molly Kampire aged 39, all now in custody.
Police further added that as investigations continue they’re yet to establish whether the garden where the deceased’s remains were found belongs to the same family. This will either affirm or rule out their involvement in the gruesome murder of Godfrey.
