People Power Launches Political Party Called National Unity Platform

This morning, in Kamwokya, People Power, a political pressure group, launched the National Unity Platform.

“We are announcing to the nation that we are announcing to the nation that we are unveiling the National Unity Platform as the Political Wing of the People Power Movement.”

At the unveiling of the new party, Hon Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was pronounced the first president of the party, extending from his role as People Power Leader.

The party is an amalgamated upgrade of the National Unity, Reconciliation And Development Party previously headed by Nkonge Kibalama, after a delegates conference on 14th July gave the go-ahead on the merger with People Power.

“You can all see the blessings from the Heavens. After we untied the umbrellas, the rains came down to bless us.”

Party positions are yet to be confirmed and Joel Ssenyonyi, the spokesperson of People Power says the details of these positions will be announced at a later time.
