Musician Pius Mayanja, aka Pallaso has been yet again involved in a rough and tumble, and this time with the Uganda Police.
According to a video broadcast from his Facebook Page, the “Akomelerwe” singer claims Police invaded his home in Makindye without probable cause.
“Uganda police, we are all Ugandans and we are all affected by this pandemic differently. Using excessive force and shooting bullets at unarmed fellow brothers and sisters is making me lose all hope. Enough is enough,” reads the video caption.
“I am Pallaso. I am peaceful. I am at my house and I will give the officers what they want. Bullets have been shot, Mr President”
Pallaso cries out in the video.
Pallaso is seen to record the incident in which one of the officers is heard affirming that the raid is not malicious Police behavior but rather a response to neighbors’ reservations and complaints about Pallaso and his crew.
Pallaso is heard in a heated engagement with Officer Mutume about the Police’s presence in his compound.
“We have not come here because we want to come here. There are so many times we have passed by this home and we are not bothered with what you are doing. This time round, we come because of the public outcry and complaints,” says one of the law enforcement agents in the video.
Pallaso is reportedly on the run, and no clear information on his whereabouts has been provided.
