Onduparaka have added another young talent to their squad ahead of next season that reported to be starting on the 17th of October .
The 22 year old Kennedy Atibuni joins the caterpillars on a three year deal from regional side Diamonds FC.
Atibuni started his footballing career at Arua Public S.S where he captained his school to several secondary school tournaments. The creative trickster once shared a pitch with the once golden boy Mohammad Shaban at Arua Public SS and will now be moving to Onduparaka to follow in the footsteps of his OB.
The Ugandan will be expected to work hard at his new club as he will face more competition compared to the one he’s been accustomed to in the regional League.
Onduparaka Gaffer Vialli has continued to improve his squad ahead of the new season and will be hoping that his Atibuni alongside his first two summer signing can help Onduparaka stop the slide that had started to hit them before the league was suspended due to the coronavirus.
Bainomugisha Vialli, the Onduparaka coach, has advised new signing Atibuni 22, to use his long time in the football game to forge a career at the Arua based club. “Onduparaka is a club that believes in nurturing talents and if the scouts recommended a player like Ken then it’s good to have him on board. He is young and has played the game of football for some time so it will be easy to work with him,” Vialli said.
Atibuni being an attacking midfielder, he has been warned about the hardships that await him as he expects to break into the first team. “We know we have attacking midfielders in the team but adding more gives us added advantage and each of them including Kennedy has a lot to prove and offer our team this coming season. We all hope he will fit in the boots of some of the big attacking Midfielders this club has had,” Vialli added
