Norwich needed to avoid defeat against West ham to stand a chance prolong their fight against relegation but a 4-0 loss at Carrow road confirmed their relegation to the second tier from the Premier league.

Norwich will now play their football in the Championship after they couldn’t find answers to Antonio’s four goals. The Canaries needed at least a draw against the hammers to push their fight against Relegation for another week but a quartet of goals from England International Michail Antonio confirmed their demotion to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.

Following the Canaries relegation, they now hold an unwanted record of the most relegated team from the Premier league with their record now standing at five times. They first faced the drop in the season of 1994/95 and then followed it up with other relegations in 2004/05, 2013/14, 2015/16 and now 2019/20. They now leave Middlesbrough, Sunderland and crystal Palace behind on four times in the race of the most relegated team .. Norwich had some promising performances in terms of possession and they looked like a team that was always up to something but their failure to defend cost them on several occasions and now they face a drop.
Canaries captain cited that him and his fellow teammates were to blame for the canaries relegation as they failed to do what was right leading to being punished by several teams which has resulted into them relegated.

“It is hard for me to talk,” midfielder Alex Tettey
“For all those four goals we can’t defend like that, it’s very very tough. I’ve been saying this the whole season – at the end it doesn’t end up being a positive game and it’s tough to get yourselves going mentally.

“This club has not been a club that buys well established players, if you have a group and a collective that you’re trying to create you need to be consistent.

“We’ve been in games sometimes but we don’t have the mentality or character to get those wins.

“This is a young group in their first season in the Premier League and now they have that experience of the Premier League.”

Norwich will take positives from this season as they finish striker hit double figures in goals this season although they were not enough to save them from relegation.
