Mambo News’ Correspondent in Western Uganda has confirmed that Kabale’s Nicholas Tuesday Arineitwe has dropped out of the race for Member of Parliament to represent Ndorwa West Constituency as the National Resistance Movement Flag Bearer.
As he announced his withdrawal from the contest, Mr. Nicholas Arineitwe alleged that this move was hinged on the fact that the party primaries were bound to fall short of transparency.

It was his allegation that the party’s Electoral Commission under the chairmanship of Dr. Tanga Odoi had failed to fulfill its Constitutional obligation when it failed to efficiently investigate complaints that the Party’s voter register had been tampered with by his opponents. It was further alleged that most of the party’s registrars are well-known supporters of the incumbent Member of Parliament representing Ndorwa West, Hon. David Bahati which depicts noting but a gross conflict of interest.

As to what his next move would be, Mr. Arineitwe informed our correspondent that he would still contest for the position of Member of Parliament representing Ndorwa West in 2021 but on an Independent ticket. He was expected to contest against David Bahati, the State Minister of Finance for Planning, Simpson Mpiriirwe, Bahati’s former Campaign Manager, and Mark Raizo Mashemererwa.
