Media Houses under Next Media and Nation Media provided the most trending topics, got the most mentions and personalities in the second quarter according to a report from IPSOS.

NTV Luganda News Anchor Faridah Nakazibwe claimed top spot as the personality mentioned, taking over from Next Media’s Canary Mugume who topped Q1.

Entertainment shows gained a lot of prominence taking over Television and Radio in the evening and on weekends and account for 13 of the top 15 mentioned personality handles, with only Mugume and Nakazibwe the nonentertainment personalities in the top.

Radio City DJs Aludah, Selector Jay, Deejay Jo, and the chatterbox Phil Kirya join NBS and NTV’s Lyndah Ddane, Crysto Panda, MC Kats, Douglas Lwanga, Zahara Totto, DJ Roja, VJ Mercy Pro.

Radio City’s Livewire has caused the most disruption in the TV dominated trends.

Most of this can be accounted to the coronavirus pandemic spread that caused the government to put the country on Lockdown for a major part of the second quarter, with people resorting to their TVs and Radios for immediate entertainment.

NTV and NBS are the most mentioned media houses in the country for two-quarters straight with Radio City dropping New Vision to fifth place from third in the first quarter.
