Others are Makindye Division Mayor Kasirye Nganda, Ronald Balimwezo Nsubuga (Nakawa Division), and Kawempe Mayor Dr. Emmanuel Serunjogi.

Speaking at the event, the party principal, Hon Kyagulanyi Sentamu said that this is just the beginning and first of many steps to becoming the biggest opposition party in the country.

“This is just the beginning, many more MPs are going to be coming here to declare their defection, membership and allegiance to NUP,” Kyagulanyi said.

The party president commended the new members for making a noble decision to identify with the party. He added, “We are pleased that these ladies and gentlemen are confident about identifying with us. They are people I personally hold with high regard.” Kyagulanyi said.
