Earlier today, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) declared H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as Presidential flag bearer and NRM Party National Chairperson.
This development comes after his supposed opponent, former Makindye Member Of Parliament John Ssimbwa failed to return with his nomination forms.
This is the political reality and you are supposed to come into politics when you are ready.
NRM electoral commission chairman, Dr Tanga Odoi
Dr Tanga Odoi outlined that there will be no extended guidelines and went forward to declare President Museveni’s sole candidacy.
President Museveni, through his legal representative Edwin Karugire, picked and returned the nomination forms for both Party Chairperson-ship and Presidential flag bearer.
John Ssimbwa too had picked the forms but did not return them before the deadline (Wednesday 22nd July 2020), on top of failing to meet the nomination fees of UGX 10 Million.
