The Miss Uganda foundation has announced that this year’s pageant has been postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus.
“Under the given circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic we have no option except to postpone this year’s pageant to next year,” the foundation CEO Brenda Nanyonjo said.
“On a positive note, 2021 will mark ten years of the Miss Uganda franchise under Kezzi Entertainment and we look forward to a big celebration as we crown a new queen.Until then Oliver Nakakande will continue her reign as Miss Uganda as will other title holders for one more year,” she added.

For the last two years, the pageant has been known to be held in August but the foundation had hoped that situation would clear up by now but it looks not to be the case.
Gathering hundreds of ladies to audition alone would risk the spread of the virus and it would be costly to test all of them before the auditioning.
In July, Miss World also announced that the 70th edition would happen in the second semester of 2021 as they could not hold a private coronation of a new beauty queen and risk the spread of the virus.
