Arsenal Manager was left ruing missed chances after the Premier League champions came from behind to beat his team 3-1, thanks to Jurgen Klop’s tactics.
This tie was between two teams that had won two games of their opening matches but the reds still showed why they’re world champions as gaols from Mane, Robertson, and Diogo Jota saw off a resilient Arsenal side.
While Arsenal has been an improved side over the past 8 months under their new boss, Liverpool showed their class and quality as they tore apart Arteat’s men.
Liverpool started the brighter side of the Two English heavyweight teams but was lucky not to be down to ten men within the first ten minutes of the game as Mane’s raised Elbow was punished with just a yellow card rather than a red card.
Arsenal took the lead in a swift counter-attack move that so them beat Liverpool’s high press and score in the 25th minute through after Robertson failed to clear his lines.
Liverpool responded well within 3 minutes through Sadio Mane and was at it again in the 34th minute through Robertson this time round after Arsenal couldn’t find answers to Jurgen Klop’s high flying fullbacks.
In the second half, Arsenal came back an improved side with Lacazate missing two clear cut chances as he was put through on goal by Ceballos, these two missed chances led to Arsenal being punished as Second half substitute Jota Scored Liverpool’s third in his 10 minutes debut at Anfield.”When you get through you have to score if you want to get anything from the game” Arteta said.
However much the gunners lost, Arteta who acknowledged Liverpool’s superiority picked some positives out of the game and has challenged his players to emulate Jurgen Klop’s Liverpool “The reality is [Liverpool] are superior to us in many aspects. You could see that in some phases.”I am really happy in the way the team competed & kept believing. This is the standard we have to reach.” Arteta said.
