Lionel Messi has ended speculation sorrounding his transfer after confirming he will stay at Barceona for the next season.
The six-time Ballon D’Or winner revealed this in an interview with Goal this evening putting an end to the speculation sending him to Premier League dons Manchester City.
“I wasn’t happy and I wanted to leave. I have not been allowed this in any way and I will STAY at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute,” Lionel Messi said.
The management of the club led by Bartomeu is a disaster.
Messi raised eyebrows when he handed in a transfer request after Barcelona’s shambolic display in the UEFA Champions League, after literally surrendering the La Liga to rivals Real Madrid.
There were legalities hindering Messi from leaving Barcelona with his contract suggesting he has a release clause of 700M Euros, though, Messi and his agent, also his father, argued that there was a clause in there allowing him to exit from the contract for free.
