Manchester United have confirmed the signing of full-back Alex Telles on a four-year deal with the option for a further year.
The 27-year-old underwent a medical at the club’s training ground on Monday after a breakthrough in negotiations with Porto on Sunday.
Telles was ready to fly to Brazil for international duty when the two sides came to an agreement on a fee.
After his transfer was confirmed the Brazilian left-back said, “To join a club with the prestige of Manchester United is a huge honor.
“You have to work hard to get to this moment in your career and now I am coming to this club, I can promise that I will give everything in my heart to be a success here. I won many trophies at FC Porto and I want to continue that at United.”
Telles who is Manchester United’s lasted signing also lauded his new boss for having a clear plan on which direction the club should take.”The manager has a clear plan and direction for this team and I can’t wait to pull on the famous shirt,” Telles said.
United boss Solskjaer expressed his feelings about his new recruit indicating that they had followed the marauding left for a very long and he will now be delighted to have got his man.”First and foremost I welcome Alex to United. He is a player we have been tracking for some time and his performances over the past few years are exactly what we are looking for.” Ole said of his new signing.
Manchester United fans will be hoping that their new signing can help solve defensive problems at left-back when he returns from international duty.
