Manchester City has strengthened its team with yet another defender in Ruben Dias after they earlier signed Nathan Ake from Bournemouth FC.
The cityzens who were put to the sword by table-leaders Leicester city on Sunday have moved to tighten a defense that proved shaky as they gave away three penalties in a seven-goal thriller that so them come out as the losing side.
The 23-year-old Portuguese international has joined Man city on a six-year contract and will be expected to stay at the Etihad until 2026.
Dias leaves Portugal having made more than 100 appearances in three seasons for the Lisbon giants, and also having won a league title in 2018/19.
Ruben who is capped 19 times by Portugal says that the decision to move to England was an easy one as joining a team like manchester city was a fantastic opportunity for him to turn down. “To have the opportunity to join a club like Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me and one I couldn’t turn down,” he said.
He then went ahead and added, “Their success speaks for itself. They have been the dominant team in England over the last few years, playing an attacking brand of football which I feel suits my own game.”
The Portuguese international becomes Guardiola’s third signing of the summer as he joins Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake on the new recruits list.
