Uganda’s film industry continues to grow everyday with many actors, actresses and film producers coming together to write great movies and series that are not only entertaining but also marketing Ugandan globally.
Last year, Reach A hand Uganda launched an 8-episode series titled “Kyaddala” that was airing on NBS.

As opposed to the popular Hollywood movies that many people watch and do not relate to, Kyaddala was a true depiction of the Ugandan- African setting showing issues that young people in universities continue to face every day from HIV to teenage pregnancies to friendships and academics as well.
It featured actors from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Nigeria. They included Martha Kay, Anita Fabiola, Matthew Nabwiso, Patrick Salvador, Harmonie Kyomugisha, etc and it was directed by Nigerian model and actor, Ikubese Emmanuel.

After having a successful season, Kyaddala has returned for season two and it will be airing on NBS just like the last season.
Reach A Hand Uganda, had a panel discussion as they launch season two to discuss the role of TV and film in inspiring significant social change and social impact. The panel comprised of SRHR Alliance National Coordinator, Charles Owekmeno, season one cast member, Cleopatra Koheirwe, Incredible media CEO Shafiq Sserwadda, and singer Naava Grey.

This is a win for the film industry in Uganda and hopefully, it continues to grow tremendously.
