Presnel Kimpembe haS a new deal at PSG to end speculation surrounding his future after being linked with top clubs around Europe. The 24year old highly rated defender has become a Strong pillar in the league champion’s defence and is said to be one of the reason as to why PSG bosses decided against offering long serving and legend defender Da Silva a new contract.
The French defender has signed a four year contract extending his stay at les Parc Des Princes to 2024.
Kimpembe who came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain last signed a contract in 2018 and his personality on and off the pitch was enough to earn him a new four contract.
The world cup winner has so far made 136 appearances for the PSG in which he has helped them to win 13 trophies. On signing the contract, Kimpembe praised his relationship with his coach and stressed that he was happy to continue working with Thomas Tuchel in order to win more trophies.
“When the coach arrived, we spoke a lot. He spoke to me about the way he sees things, he shared his philosophy, and I find myself in his approach. He has an incredible personality, he is able to be very funny and we have a good mutual understanding.” He said.
The club also wished the French man more success in the capital on the website “The club wishes Presnel continued success in his career in the Paris Saint-Germain colours,” the club statement said.
Presnel after sharing his happy thoughts about working under Tuchel, he went ahead and spoke about his memorable stay at Parc Dea princes where he’s had to make a lot of sacrifices to make it a success.”Paris is my team, and the club where I came through the ranks. I have been here since I was eight years old and to be able to be here for the long-term is a real honor for me. I hope that I can continue to win lots of matches and lots of trophies.
“My list of memories is long! I have been here for a very long time. My first professional contract remains a very special memory, because it was the culmination of lots of work and sacrifices. There was also my professional debut, against Lens at the Stade de France, my first match in the Champions League against Barcelona, the victory over Dortmund. I could carry on!”
Kimpembe will be hoping he can lead his team to success in the Champions league this season after downing Dortmund in the last sixteen stage. They return today with a friendly against Le Havre.
