Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City star player, has won the Premier League player of the season award after beating several League stars to the gong.
The Belgian has managed to beat Premier League’s top scorer Jamie Vardy and Liverpool Trio Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane, and Alexander Trent Arnold to the annual award.
De Bruyne has won the award even in a season full of disappointments where they surrendered their Premier League trophy to Liverpool and lost a semi-final FA Cup game to Arsenal to end the season with just one trophy in the capital one cup.
Despite Liverpool beating De Bruyne’s Man City to the Premier League trophy, the 29-year-old still enjoyed a stellar campaign where he managed to equal an all-time assist record of 20 in a single season which was held by Arsenal’s invincible Thierry Henry.
He also managed to score 13 goals although Man City failed to maintain the prolific form that had helped them win two consecutive Premier League trophies.
Liverpool’s Trent Arnold won the premier league’s young player of the season whereas his coach Jurgen Klopp beat Chris Wilder, Frank Lampard, and Brendan Rogers to the best manager of the season award.
In a season where Man City didn’t enjoy most of the success like the previous season, Kevin De Bruyne has not shied away from showing his class and was the Premier League with most goal involvement in all competitions at 38 goals and assists when their season ended with a loss to Lyon.
