Kellyanne Conway, senior counsel to President Donald J Trump has announced that she will be leaving the role at the end of the month of August.
Mrs Conway has been the highest ranking woman in the White House, serving as Senior Counsel to the President.
Kellyanne, who is set to speak at the Republican National Convention later this week, said the decision was not forceful at all and was by her own choice. This comes after her daughter’s tweet of her mother’s job ruining her life went viral.
The Conway household is republican but split as Kellyanne’s husband, George, is a co-founder of The Lincoln Project – a Republican political action committee working to prevent the re-election of President Trump in 2020. Kellyanne insists that has nothing with her leaving the White House.
[George and I] disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids.
Kellyanne has served for four years, making her the highest-ranking woman in the White House, having also been the first woman to lead a successful US presidential campaign, spearheading Mr. Trump’s successful effort in 2016.
“The past four years have allowed me blessings beyond compare,” she said in a statement.
Our four children are teens and tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids ‘doing school from home’ requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times.
Kellyanne has not been short of controversy as cited a non-existent “massacre” to defend the administration’s immigration restrictions and at one time, found herself caught between President Trump and her husband.
