KCCA FC has discovered its fate in the total CAF confederations cup after CAF made draws of the tournament. The African Club football governing body convened draws of the preliminary rounds and the first round of the completion in Cairo Egypt on Monday.
The kasisro boys have been drawn against the winner between the Rwandan side AS Kigali and Orapa United who will face off in the preliminary round of the 2020/21 Total CAF Confederations Cup.
KCCA who are not new to this competition will start their CAF Confederations Cup journey in the first round after being among the 13 clubs that have been handed byes for the preliminary round because of their competitiveness in the competition.
Other African clubs to have the preliminary round waived away for them include Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), RS Berkane (Morocco), ES Setif (Algeria), Pyramids FC (Egypt), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), JS Kabylie (Algeria), San Pedro (Ivory Coast) and ESAE (Benin), Al Hilal Obeid (Sudan), UD Songo (Mozambique) and DC Motema Pembe (DR Congo).
Mike Mutebi’s side has so far participated five times in this competition, and the highlight of their competitiveness in the tournament was back then in 2017 where they managed to collect nine points in the group stages.
Despite the glory in 2017, Mike Mutebi will be so kin not to repeat the same that saw his team eliminated in the play-off round after losing 4-1 on aggregate against Algerian side Paradou AC last season. With the signing of attacking players like Kigozi Samson and Brian Aheebwa, KCCA FC fans will feel they have all it takes to make it to the group stages.
