Denis Iguma joins KCCA FC as mike Mutebi looks to strengthen his side that missed out on the Star Times UPL trophy to Vipers SC in the wake of the corona virus pandemic.
Iguma becomes the kasasiro boys’ fourth signing in this transfer window after having announced the capture of Italian sensation stefano Mazengo, lwanga Charles, and Ashraf mugume.
Mutebi’s team has been in decline mode in the last three years following their success on the continent and in the league where they managed to be the first ever Ugandan team to make it to the CAF Champions League group stages in 2017. Mike will be hoping that his new signings can restore the mojo, confidence and dynamism that has since been lost in the last 3 years following the departure of many talented players from the lugogo based side.
The 27 year old kalangala born now joins KCCA FC from Kuwait based side Kazima Sporting club on an undisclosed fee. Iguma who has 60 caps under his belt and was part of the Uganda National Team that made it out of the AFCON group stages in 2018 will be hoping to restore success at his new club.
The versatility of Denis was the main reason he was signed as he can play in central defense, midfield and both full back positions.
“KCCA FC is a big team. With that, the fans should expect the best from me. I feel comfortable when I play in central-defense, midfield, and full-back positions.” Denis Iguma said on KCCA FC TV
Iguma also went ahead to declare that with his experience he will try and be exemplary to the young lads at KCCA FC and also shared his thoughts on how excited he is to play in the StarTimesUPL.
“I am happy to be a KCCA FC player. I am going to contribute to the team. With my experience, I have to be an example to some of the players on and off the pitch. I am very excited to play in the StarTimesUPL.” Denis Iguma added.
Mike Mutebi will be hoping that Iguma’s Vast experience can help trigger Musa’s full potential and help form an exceptional partnership that will protect Lukwago in KCCA’s goal and also help steer success.
“Denis Iguma joining us is a good thing. His vast experience in football will benefit the team. I believe his partnership with Musa Ramathan will be exceptional. He is going to help us win trophies next season.” Mike happily said.
