Express FC has confirmed the capture of Kakooza Mahad from Proline. The 22-year-old midfielder has joined the red eagles for a second spell after he departed the club after one season with them in 2018.
Express first signed the enigmatic midfielder back in 2016 after his heroics in the Masaza Cup of Buganda. He played only a single season with the Mukwano Gw’abanji side before seeking pastures new in 2018. After a season two seasons away from Express, Mahad has opted to return to the club that helped him have his first UPL experience.
Mahad becomes Wasswa Bossa’s fourth midfielder to be signed and eighth signing in total for ahead of the new campaign that is scheduled to start on the 17th of October.
Express confirmed the capture of their former star on their official website with a statement that read, “Express FC has on Wednesday 2nd September 2020 confirmed the re-capture of midfielder Kakooza “Yaya” Mahad.”
The youngster shared his delight upon returning back home to a place he is more familiar with. “Firstly, I am a fan of this great club, my dad too. So, when the opportunity presented itself, I couldn’t turn it down. I am therefore so glad and proud to be at a club where I am familiar with the surroundings,” Mahad told Express website after signing.
