Kai Havertz is now out of the transfer rumor mill after he joined Chelsea in a £75.8m deal from Bayer Leverkusen.
Chelsea confirmed the capture of the young Germany midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen and he will be expected to team up with his new teammates once international football is done.
The capture of the young, highly-rated attacking midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen follows the purchase of Timo Werner from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. Kai now becomes Frank Lampard’s 7th signing after they confirmed the capture of Germany team-mate Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, and Xavier Mbuyamba.
In a deal that brought kai to Chelsea, the blues offered Bayer Leverkusen a chance to sign Malang Sarr on loan.
After kai’s transfer to Chelsea was confirmed, the 20-year-old who scored 36 goals and provided 25 assists for his former club showed his delight on joining the London side in a statement that was shared on Chelsea’s official website. “I am very happy and proud to be here. “For me, it is a dream come true to play in a big club like Chelsea and I can’t wait to meet all the players and the trainers. Yeah, I am very happy to be here!” Havertz said.
Timo Werner Kai’s international teammate took to twitter to welcome the youngster with a tweet that read “Welcome to Chelsea, my friend!”
Lampard will be hoping that his new signings can help gunner the blues to a premier league next season.
