The three men and a woman who disguised as NWSC staff to gain entry into a home, held a cook captive and robbed, have been arrested by the Uganda Police Force.
The four were captured on CCTV footage last week, incapacitating a house help, and it would later be confirmed that they made off with $4,500 and other currencies amounting to sh85 million.
NWSC Public Relations Officer Sam Apedel has since urged Ugandans to be on the lookout for pretenders looking to exploit loopholes in the system.
“If someone comes to your home as an employee from NWSC to read your water meter or to fix any reported case, ask them for their employment ID’s, look at your water bill, there is a name and number of your area relations manager and first call to be sure of such a person,” said Apedel.
