The new season of the Uganda Premier League is all covered by uncertainty. FUFA is still in discussions with the government to give the go-ahead for the competition to start. However, this uncertainty has not come in between clubs making signings and the players stating ambitions.
URA FC new signing, who joined the Tax collectors from Tooro United FC on a season-long loan, has vowed to add quality and completion at the club he has termed the best club. “I have come to add quality and competition to the squad,” Katongole told the club’s media in his first interview.
Despite his former club being relegated, Katongole’s quality was too much for teams with an ambition to ignore, and that’s why they swooped up for the energetic center back.
Following his move to the tax collectors, Farouk Katongole has paid respect to his new teammates Mbowa, Mulikyi, and Nyakoojo, who he termed as already good players. “URA really has some good defenders. I know we have good players like Mbowa, Mulikyi, Nyakoojo, ” Katongole said.
Despite praising his new teammates, Kantongole has vowed to work hard to win game time at his new club. “I have to work so hard to get playing time,” he said after his deal to URA FC confirmed.
Katongole, who is a solid defender in one-on-one situations, with great game reading and a natural leader, now joins the likes of Jackson Nunda, Arafat Galiwango, Hannington Ssebwalunyo, Davis Ssali, Brian Nkuubi, and Steven Mukwala as a new signing who joined the club earlier in the transfer window.
URA FC fans will be hoping that their new defender can help put performances that will help them win the Uganda Premier league trophy in the 2020/21 season, scheduled to start on the 3rd of December.
