Today, Hima Cement launched the new Fundi Masonry Cement at the Hima Cement premises at Namanve Industrial Park. The team was joined by the media and an internet celebrity from last week, Paddy Kitandwe, who drove a grader to an interview with Hima Cement.
Hima Cement said that the launch of the Fundi Masonry Cement is beyond crowding the markets for profits and addresses the dire need to improve the standard of construction in the country on both small and large scales.
“We have over eight brands of cement but six of those go to infrastructure. This masonry cement has come to address the needs of the market like high price, peeling walls,” said Philemon Mubiru, Head Of Innovation, Marketing and Quality at Hima Cement.
Fundi is an application-based cement that is formulated with enhanced capabilities for masonry and plaster works. The customer is guaranteed improved workability, affordability, and beautiful finishes.

With Fundi Masonry Cement, Hima Cement hopes to guarantee all construction of “superior workability” and solve the demands of bricklaying, plasterwork, and screeds, both for individual home builders and large construction projects.
Paddy Kitandwe, of the grader fame, was in attendance and his own testament of the new product.
“Fundi cement is an excellent product that makes work easier. When you use it when plastering or bricklaying, your employer will be so impressed and might add you more work,” said Paddy.
Looks like things have turned out well for Mr Kitandwe as Hima Cement were glad to him “join” them.
Fundi Cement is the latest addition to Hima Cement’s wide range of cement solutions, including Multipurpose, Rapidset, PowerCrete, PowerMax, PowerPlus, RoadCem, Minecem, and Supaset. It can be found in retails hardware across the country and is also available for purchase on JUMIA.
