Wankulukuku based Express FC have confirmed the addition of Rugby stalwart Helen Koyokoyo Buteme to their technical bench.
The former lady cranes captain and coach join the Red Eagles in the capacity of the strength an conditioning coach.
Helen resigned from the role of Lady Cranes coach last year and revealed she has been in touch with Express administration since the beginning of the year.
“When I met the club CEO (Isaac Mwesigwa) at the beginning of this year, he told me about his plans for Express basically to bring back its glory days and seeing that am also a strength and conditioning coach, he wanted me to join the technical team and take over the conditioning needs for the team,” Buteme said, according to the club’s website.
Helen holds a level B conditioning License from Leipzig University and has already hit the ground running, getting in touch with various players.
“It turned out to be a challenge that I couldn’t resist and so I will be making sure that the players are in the best possible shape to execute the coach’s game plans and ensuring that they are as injury-free as possible and assisting the medical team with the rehabilitation of injured players and just basically making sure that the players are the best that they can possibly be.”
Helen Buteme led the Lady Cranes to a 7s rugby world, HongKongs 7s in the HSBC World Series and has recently been dressing up for the Black Pearls.
