With finalists set to resume school next month, the Government has been asked to allow girls that have gotten pregnant in the long lockdown to sit their final examinations.
This is being championed by Girl Child Initiative Uganda, a Non-Government Organisation that promotes the reproductive rights of the girl child.
Nickson Segawa, executive director of the initiative, says the government and ministry of education need to consider the fact there were several idle learners and parents who were naive of what to do next, propelling students into “situationships.”
He further argued that education is a right even these girls need to enjoy.
