Members of Parliament Paul Mwiru of Jinja East and Gerald Karuhanga of Ntungamo Municipality both opposition MPs have today joined the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). The event of their official unveiling happened at a conference organized by the party in Kampala which included the members of the new opposition party.
Paul Mwiru a former Forum for Democratic Change member and Gerald Karuhanga made it clear that the move was by choice and it was a great honor to be part of the ANT party. Gerald Karuhanga added saying that because of the formation and structural framework of the party, this persuaded him to be part of the team.” Had it not been for the constitution of the republic of Uganda, I would have joined the ANT party on the day it was launched” he added.

Karuhanga also talked about how ANT will tackle the issue of nepotism in the country which is in the current government and also involve the young generation who he called upon to rally behind ANT so that they use their energies to transform the nation.
Veteran politician Alice Alaso who is the coordinator of the Alliance for National Transformation party (ANT) foresaw the welcoming of the two Members of Parliament who she accepts will be part of the team to deliver change in governance.

MP Gerald Karuhanga has been the talk of town for a while now having been one of the MPs who petitioned court over the controversial 10 billion shillings alongside colleague Jonathan Odur. They filed the case against the attorney General, who is the principle legal advisor to Government in the civil division of the High court.
Paul Mwiru a former member of FDC came into parliament when he won the Jinja by-election against his competitor and main challenger Igeme Nathan Nabeta and NRM candidate.
