Uganda’s football governing body, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations convened the 96th Annual Ordinary Assembly at Silver Springs Hotel, Bugolobi -Nakawa in Kampala region on Saturday, 17th October 2020 and it awarded servants of the beautiful game once again with plaques and hard cash.
FUFA has over the years rewarded people who it thinks have contributed to the development of the football game in the country with awards on all their annual ordinary assemblies, this year it was also on show as former football leaders were given plaques and hard cash as a token.
“It is a big honor to recognize special different people who worked tirelessly for the game of football in Uganda. Mr. John Baptist Ssemanobe, Mr. Katamba Ojuku Eugene, and Kabugo Charles Kakunta all had their handsome contribution to the game and we are rewarding them in appreciation,” FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo stated.
Among those to be recognized was Mr. John Baptist Ssemanobe who is a former football player who played his trade for Nsambya FC in the 70s, he also represented the Uganda national team on several occasions before retiring and taking up the roles of being the Nsambya FC coach and FUFA president between 1989 – 1992.
Also at the assembly, FUFA passed next year’s financial budget that saw an amount of Shs. 36, 095,753,881 get approved to finance FUFA objectives.
