The Federation Of Uganda Football Association has announced that they have served Police FC Chairperson, AIGP Asan Kasingye, a fine after a tirade that followed his team’s loss to defending champions, Vipers SC.
AIGP Asan Kasingye was seen on the playing turf after Police FC’s was sent off for handling the ball outside the 18-yard box. The suspension would later be rescinded as the FUFA Technical committee adjudged that the touchline referee made a wrong call.
Chairman Kasingye had taken to his social media expressing his great distaste in how FUFA “connives” to favor the Kitende based SC Vipers.
A minimum fine of UGX 2.5M ( Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings Only) under Article 39 (3) and Article 40 (2) of the FUFA Ethics Code. The fine must be paid within thirty (30) days from receipt of the decision.
FUFA Statement
According to the FUFA Ethics Code, AIGP Asan Kasingye, in his position as chairperson of one of the teams, is bound by Article 39 (2) of the FUFA Ethics Code that requires him not to speak out publicly about the running of FUFA.
Article 39(2) of the FUFA Ethics Code provides that; Persons bound by this Code are forbidden from making any public statements of a defamatory nature towards FUFA and /or towards any other person bound by this code in the context of FUFA events.
Should AIGP Asan fail to pay the fine, he will be serve a 6 month ban from all football related activities, nationally and or internationally.
