We can now confirm that the political heat is on as several candidates vying for positions as the National Resistance Movement’s flag bearers in the 2021 General elections make preparations to take on each other in the Party’s primaries.
News reaching our desk indicates that the former Minister for Urban Planning and Development, Mr. Urban Tibamanya has dropped out of the race for the Kashari North Member of Parliament seat. In an interview with, www.mknewslink.com he stated that he had already informed the NRM Secretariat of his decision to quit the race but did not state the reasons why.
As announced by the NRM Electoral Commission’s Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Party’s Primaries are scheduled to take place on 4th September, 2020. Prior to his withdraw from the race, Mr. Urban Tibamanya was expected to lock horns with Wilberforce Yaguma, Basil Bataringaya, Mark Itogora Nyabihemu and Didas Tumwesigye for this position.
