The Ministry of Health has confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 from tests done on Tuesday 28th July.
This brings the cumulative number of Ugandans that have tested positive for the virus to 1,140 and 2 deaths registered.
According to the ministry, one of the cases is admitted in ICU at Rubaga Hospital with arrangements underway to transfer the patient to Mulago Hospital.
Of the five confirmed cases, four are alerts from Kampala Metropolitan Area while one was in contact with a previously confirmed case. The contact was under quarantine at the time of the test.
Simultaneously, eight foreign truck drivers (7 Kenyans and 1 Tanzanian) tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry, though their entry into the country was not permitted.
